A True Friend Would Let Me Go

A True Friend Would Let Me Go

A Poem by WritersBlock21

I've never felt so alone.

I'm only fifteen minutes away.

I got a call last night saying anytime now.

I don't want to be in this awful place when I get the confirmation.

I want to be home

With them.

I will never let her see me cry,

Because she'll use it against me.

She isn't a real friend and

I am so home sick.

Maybe I should have told her no.

Told her I couldn't babysit her for ten days.

You're nineteen.

Time to grow up,

Time to understand the definition of alone.

You think you're doing me a favor,

Even though I'm the one doing the favor.

If you were a true friend,

You wouldn't humiliate me

And make me feel dumb.

You may think you're on top.

You may think you're beautiful.

But your insides are ugly.

Your insides are going to be your downfall.
