The Problem Inbetween Ninety Seven Miles

The Problem Inbetween Ninety Seven Miles

A Poem by WritersBlock21

Don't understand you.

Can't grasp a thought in your brain.

Trying to figure you out.

I thought we were over eachother the day you left.

Never mentioned staying in touch by phone.

Told me to visit but didn't bring it up again.

What are we?

You remind me of a line in Wuthering Heights.

"Take any form- Drive me mad!

Only do not leave me in this dark abyss,

Where I cannot find you"

Three months is all it took.

Three months for you to become a constant.

I'd rather have you as a friend if not a lover.

You can't see how crippled I am

Ninety seven miles away.

You know I'm alone at night in a dark and dingy house.

You won't be able to comfort me.

Tell me it'll pass.

Reassure me that I won't be afraid to fall asleep.

Just give me an answer,

Ease my mind of this off and on flirtation.

Let me know that you're worth a response

For a text sent at two in the morning.

Give me a reason to let myself fall.
