Nana Smiles KnowinglyA Poem by WritersBlock21Yellow skin, almost mustard colored. Small fragile bones. Tiny frame, about 4'9" Sunken in eyes. Crazy black and white hair. A permanent smile.
On the inside, Tan olive skin. Small strong bones. Small solid frame, still 4'9" Light brown eyes. Pushed back black and white locks. The smiles still there.
She doesn't mind the dying part. Yes it hurts. She knows it's sad. On the bright side she'll get to see Denise. Life hasn't offered her anything new in a while. Maybe death will.
Nana smiles because she knows things. She sees things that we don't. Talking to the dead is weird, But not for her. The dead are nice and friendly. The lights flicker when they're around. They laugh thinking she's crazy. I laugh knowing she's right. She may talk about wild things but What she says is true.
Nana smiles because she knows she'll be fine. I smile because I couldn't agree more.
