Change

Change

A Poem by Teddy
"

A poem I wrote about a year ago. I would consider this a hopeful poem!

"

I was warned you were broken

I was told not to care

And yet from the moment I saw you

I believed in a spark of hope

That I could save you

But I guess saving someone

Comes at a lethal price

But the shift was subtle

And now it’s too late

There were many warning signs

I should have seen one of them

But now as it seems that I’m the broken one

I see I never took heed

I thought

When I saw you become happy

I had done the right thing

But I never noticed the change in me

So now you’re saved and I’m broken

But I can deal with that so much more that you could have

Yet if I had a chance to redo it all

I’d do it all again in a heartbeat
