Sounds

Sounds

A Poem by Teddy
"

Perhaps one of my favorite poems that I've written.

"

Stomp, stomp:

Here they come,

Guns on their backs

And boots made of steel.

Click, click:

There you go.

Silence is a bomb

And you can’t escape now.

Tick, tock:

Time’s running out.

Guns have loaded

And guess who’s the target?

Thump, thump:

Your heart’s scared to death.

The guns have snapped

And ears are ringing.

Stop now and turn around.

Feel the bullet that will save your life.

Watch the enemy march away in fake victory.

Their battle cries all in vain.

The sky will watch over you.

I can't even imagine being in that situation. This was well written so that by the end you feel the fear and hope life does prevail. Thanks for the read.

It certainly has fine pace, and a graceful finale that consumes all fear. Good work
