Chapter 9A Chapter by WriterGirl101 I woke to people calling my name. I felt cold and it was
dark. A hand was pressed to my cheek. “Rose, Rose wake up.” The voice said. It
sounded so very far away. But slowly I began coming back to my senses. Opening
my eyes I saw Perry above my face, looking down worriedly at me. I smiled and
sat up. “I’m alright.
I’m okay now.” I told him. I rubbed my
head. “What happened?” I asked. “Well, those weird purple smokes appeared, pulled you into
the air, and then just dropped you back down. You were gone for about an hour
or so. I was worried.” Perry explained. “We were worried.” He corrected
quickly. “I’m fine now. Thank you, Perry.” I smiled. He nodded, and
got up to leave.
A couple weeks later, I woke feeling a sense of excitement. My realization of freedom finally hit me in the face. I was out of school. I’m
free! I got out of bed feeling light on my feet and actually happy. Maybe this
was the path to getting on with my life. I skipped
downstairs and began cooking breakfast in the kitchen. Mom and Ashley were out
of the house so I had the place to myself. As I sat on the couch munching on
eggs and toast, there was a knock at the door. I set my plate to the side and
went to look out. It was Principal Perry. I opened the
door, greeting him. “Hello Rosary. I came to see how you were doing.” “Fine, actually, thank you.” I smiled at him. Then I had an
idea. “Would you like to come in?” I asked him. He looked
unsure at first, but after a bit of convincing, he sat with me. I sighed, and
explained... “I’m trying to
move on, Perry. And I know you’ve crushed on me since coming to our school. Now
that I’m single again, I thought I’d try to chance it, because I know you’re
such a great guy. Plus, now that I’ no longer a student, it is perfectly okay.” "My name.
It's Vincent." He breathed, smiling softly at me. He must have seen the
confusion on my face, for he continued. "I figured that it would be nice,
if you knew my first name. Was I wrong?" He asked, setting a hand on my
shoulder. I couldn't
help but smile, moving a bit closer to him. Maybe this wasn't right, but I'm
not a student anymore, so it wasn't wrong either. "Do you,
uh... Do you wanna watch a movie?" I asked, glancing at the tv. He nodded,
and I got up to go put in one of my sister's DVD's. Of course, it had to be
romance... I finish making breakfast for us and set some on the coffee table in
front of him, seeing a smile spread across his face. He took a
couple bites, and then snuck his arm around my shoulders, pulling me close, and
I couldn't help but cuddle. At one point, about halfway through the movie, he
planted a simple kiss on my temple. I smiled, looking up at him, my face just
inches away from his. After a moment’s hesitation, he leaned in to kiss me,
stopping just barely before kissing me, looking down at my lips and biting his,
then looking into my eyes. Without a moment to react, I wound my fingers in his
hair and press my lips against his soft, gentle ones. His breath smelled of my
favorite, chocolate and mint, as if he expected something like this to happen.
I couldn't help myself as I gently bit into his bottom lip, hearing him groan
with pleasure. For a fleeting
moment, my mind drifted to Michael and how we sat on this very same couch the
first time we kissed. Do I really feel the same about my ex-principle? I kissed
Vincent deeper, feeling the emotions from my thoughts really kick in, the
moaning in the background from the movie only adding to my confidence. As soon
as Perry put his hand on my hip, every thought disappeared, along with all my
confidence and emotions. I kiss him again, trying to work it back up, pulling
away when a stray finger slid underneath my pajama bottoms to my underwear. I
casually pushed his hand away, trying not to let him notice how I felt, but he
must have noticed. His face fell slightly just for a moment, and the guilt
almost knocked the wind out of me. I gave a sheepish smile. "I, uh...
Not yet. I just... Not yet." I whispered, seeing him brighten up a bit
when he realized that I was still grieving, that I had just presented him an
opportunity later. "Well,
when you're ready... You know who to call." He whispered, winking
slightly. I nod, forcing
a smile, only just now realizing how we were laying -- me sprawled out on the
couch with him on top of me. Thank God nobody else was home... He noticed as
well and quickly got up, fixing his shirt and tie. "Well, I,
uh... I should get going. I've got some paperwork to fill out." He
muttered quickly, trying to cover for what just happened between the two of us.
I nod,
watching him go quietly. I'd waited for the butterflies, the racing heart,
every emotion to go haywire like it did the first time with Michael, but I
felt only happy. And content. © 2015 WriterGirl101Author's Note
