The history of DamienA Chapter by WriterGirl101
My
life started out alright. I mean, I had a wife, a house, kids, money,
food on the table, and a job. And I may not have been the perfect father, but I
did what I could. So, let’s start with a background story because everyone loves those, right?
I was born in 1881...
Wait; wait, back up, 1881? Yeah, I’ll get to that soon. So, my parents were
farmers, and I practically jumped out of the womb as a genius on October 31. I
grew up and began reading larger words at just three years old. I helped with
the farm, and I graduated school at the age of just 14. I went to college
and got out of there at 18. I went on to have a happy life, and then I met my
first wife. We married, had two sons, and a daughter. On my daughters fifth
birthday though, my life changed in a large way. I was on my way to my factory job on night shift (I was an inventor there) and I had to walk through lots of ally-ways. On the last turn, a man jumped out and attacked me. I was frightened, obviously, the mysterious man gripped my wrist tight. His grip was that of an iron statue; immovable. He bit into my wrist and began sucking on the blood running down my arm. Disgusting, I know. Shocked, I gave no sound. I didn't know what to do. When he finished, he explained to me that he was what we called a 'vampire' and that normally he would not take blood in such a violent way but he was starved and his instincts took over. He was lucky to have enough control not to kill me. My fear and confusion gave way and I excitedly asked him lots of questions. He at first tried to refuse, but I said it would only be fair to have a few answers. I black mailed him, telling him I would spread the news that there was a monster running the streets. Vampires do live forever, vampires can go to Heaven, vampires are not afraid of crosses, holy water, etc. Vampires are harder to kill, yes. But there are more ways than one to kill them, and vampires can not survive on blood alone. Excited, I asked if it was possible to become part of the vampire life. At first, he was reluctant to change me, but after some convincing, I became one with the undead. The first couple of years were only slightly different. I was a bit stronger, better eye sight, and better hearing. But then gradually I began to crave blood and I became paler. My eyes also turned a grayer shade of blue. I left my family when they noticed my differences and began asking questions. I kissed my wife and children goodbye and walked away forever. I never had another lover until I met Zane, in 2000. I met my husband three years after realizing I was gay. I told Zane what I was on our one year anniversary, and he was cool about it, as long as I promised to turn him one day, so we could stay together forever. "Cheesy, I know," he said that night, "but I've fallen in love with you and never wanna let go." We married after two years and adopted a girl of just 1 month. I changed him one year ago,
2014.So there’s my
short past history. Now it is 2016, and Zane and I live in a cabin in the woods. Our daughter, Emily-Rose, is now 15 years old. She discovered that I was a vampire at about the age of 12 or 13. At first she was a little afraid and refused to be around me, but after some explaining and me promising that I loved her and would never hurt her, she became more open about it. © 2016 WriterGirl101Reviews
