The Flower

The Flower

A Poem by Writeress

Say goodbye to the flower

You once watched it shed a tear for you,

Bringing you new hope

For life on this planet.

It's long stem represents

The years of struggle

You've survived through and it held

You up, reached for you,

Needed you, gave you reason to see it through.

To stick it out.

You drank together. Good ale.

The substance of life

It gave you the influence,

The means to keep going,

Keep beating, keep working.

Say goodbye. You've learnt

All you needed to. Including that

Flowers die first.

Beautiful and brilliant writing. I really enjoyed reading this.It gave you the influence,

The means to keep going,

Keep beating, keep working.
Great approach - simple yet showing the whole cycle of self. Thanks for sharing this.

I think this is sad. Like a relationship that once was the center of someone's life that is now gone. Its a really pretty poem. Am I way off base with it?

What a nice poem....

It makes me feel tingly inside. Its mood and tone took an impact to me.

Good bye, flower....
