Acceleration to My Own Destruction

Acceleration to My Own Destruction

A Poem by Alexzandera

I am fire

and you are gasoline

fueling both my desire

and my rage

A lustful tale authored by Hades himself,

our mixture creates only

a deafening blaze

or a silent extinction

Two star-crossed lovers,

one leading to the other’s demise

Without me, you have purpose

a light source to create,

a vehicle to push forward

but I,

without you I am dull

slowing, fading into nothing

and since my nothingness means just that to you

I should be fine

feeding you sugar

but that would only accelerate my own destruction

And with you I burn bright

an orange glow

illuminating the night

with the craving satisfied

I can climb mountains,

jump rivers

with you I become the wildfire I am meant to be

You are not the only catalyst

and I am not the only flame

but I could be your fire

if only you would be my gasoline

It's pretty fantastic but there is a slight word economy issue... there's too many of them.

Pare it down a bit and this could be one of the better things around this place.

Leave the first and last stanza's alone thought, those are pretty perfect I think.

I liked this poem. Fire and gasoline. Would make a dangerous combination. I liked the energy and the drive of the words. Thank you Alexzandera for sharing the excellent poetry. I enjoyed this one.
