Embrace The Weirdness

Embrace The Weirdness

A Poem by Krista Harris
"

A draft of poem which will accompany my eventual book "Memoirs Of A Prozac Princess". And yeah, you guessed it, that would be me. :-)

"

 Will she ever

learn to embrace the weirdness

To throw away every notion of self doubt

That comes along with every snarl; every back handed complement and...

All the people who could never understand

Will there ever

Be a time when she can throw away the labels of...

NEUROTIC

CRAZY

FAT

AWKWARD

SHY and ALONE?

Will she ever

see herself as someone

BEAUTIFUL

UNIQUE

KIND

HEALTHY

JOYOUS and ALIVE?

Will she ever learn to love

Who she is, what she's made of and

Own it?

If she ever does

I hope she'll let me know how.

Yes it's true I'm a hypocrite, but it doesn't make my message any less sincere

I just hope you find comfort in the fact that a  CRAZY, NEUROTIC,FAT, BEAUTIFUL, UNIQUE and ALIVE

Prozac Princess

Is right there with you

Trying to embrace the wierdness

Self portrait poems are good for the soul. I like this one because it is two sided and takes potential into consideration. Too many reflective poems are one dimensional. I also liked the form.

Wow, I loved this... All women have so many self esteem issues... I hate it. We should just love ourselves because we are ourselves...
