Must Be Missing Something

Must Be Missing Something

A Poem by Krista Harris

 A Mental Health Clinic

Had a sign at the end of the second flight of stairs

Which read "No Roof Access"

This in an effort to avoid being sued by the

families of the more suicidal patients

"My God, you've thought of everything, haven't you?"

"Nah, I must be missing something"

Soon, a man trips and falls down the stairs,

having broken his leg, he said ,

"I lost my goddam balance, because I got distracted by the hilarity of your sign."

"Oh no, well do you at least apprrciate the irony?"

"Yeah. And I'll like it even better when I sue your a*s!"

What a kick in the butt !

Thank you for another moment of
"distraction" .

Just when I assume that poetry is
melodramatic and sad, you save the day
with something light and humerous.

It is also well written and neat.

Hehe, I love this to death!

I don't often see too many of these quick, simple poems built on humor or, in this case, irony.

This definitely a drift from all the heartbroken, somber, tragedy filled poetry that flows around this site.
