Lonely Child

Lonely Child

A Poem by Mariah Smith

When they found her
They wanted her
From her chubby cheeks
To her plump lips
To her tiny, tiny toes
They loved her for years
Until they had a new baby
The foster child was
Becoming a blur
She had to find her own light
To pull her out

The new baby was the
Pride and joy but the lonely
Child was hopeless
She lost her family
Becoming shattered and lost
She the lonely child
The only lonely child she knew
What will she ever do?
There was nobody here
For her anymore.
