Teenage Food Chain

Teenage Food Chain

A Poem by Mariah Smith
"

High School.

"
Each day is something different.
Everyone tries to fit in,
But nothing happens.
We are all classified,
like the Animal Kingdom.
Preps,
Emos,
Jocks,
Etc.
We just go down a chain,
One after the other but,
Who's really themselves,
Anymore.

No faults. Which is rare among writers, especially the young; although from reading some of your other works I ask if you will attempt something like a sonnet, short story, or novella. I was raised near buffalo, and am always looking to speak to writers from that area.

I liked this piece. Middle school, high school, they are both terrible when it comes to categorizing a certain person into a specific group. I always hated that part the most. You are right in what you ask, who is really themselves, if anyone, anymore. Great job!
