A Chapter in the Verse

It was just another friday night
you and me, we had another fight
When we got home
you went into your room
nothing else was said
I went in to make it right
say I love you, and hold you tight
You know the hardest cut of all
you turned your face
to the wall
I was there for just three days
when you looked at me and
you turned away
I packed my things closed the door
and headed down the road
[ I know you're as scared as me
When the kids inside just won't agree
The stones they throw
are hard and cold
Ain't it funny how feelings go
You can't act on what you don't know
and good-bye is the only
way we see... ]
So now here we are
seperate sorrows, seperate cars
Yes, we'll wave as we pass
on the street
somehow feels incomplete
As I drive all alone
wind whistlin' thru' my window
thinkin 'bout how it went that night
it's a shame when the kids
come out to fight
Have we learned our lessons well
Who knows babe,
I can't tell
As we go our seperate ways
Maybe someday the kids will play
[ I know you're as scared as me
when the kids inside just won't agree
The stones they throw
are hard and cold
Ain't it funny how feelings go
You can't act on what you don't know
and good-bye is the only
way we see ]
and good-bye is the only
way we see...
