Why is it so easy to hang on
when lettin' go is
what's needed
all along

Why do I still care
if you love me
why does your anger
still affect me

Though it's been years
since I've seen you
not a day goes by
when I don't think of you

I tried to talk to you
without disguise
tell you who I am
without lies.

What you gave in return
broke my heart.
Judgment, disapproval
tearing me apart

It's long past time
to move on
forget your letters
that never come

As the light dawns
my footsteps falter
seems you've forgotten
I'm your daughter

So why do I still care
if you love me
why does your anger
still affect me

so beautiful, yet so sad. I can relate to this piece, I have not seen my bilogical father since I was a baby, this hit my heart.

Oh this is so beautiful and it touched me in a very personal way also. The more of your words that I read the more that I think you are one of my soul sisters or something.
