Through the fire, through the flames you emerged like a swan Stolen grace, but the pain you would use, your reform Though we watched as you flailed, Now we watch as you dawn Shedding layers Shedding pain See the light through the storm Shake the earth Thunder's quake Of the Fire you were born Now you rise as we pray Rise anew Precious swan Use that Fire deep inside Burn it's way through the dawn It's for YOU, not for THEM Take a hold, YOUR REFORM So one day, you shall stand against the wind against the storm Here today Past is gone Precious Swan
This has a very wonderful flow and a delicate softness to it, a gentle urging to this swan to pass through its own baptism of fire, shed its feathers and rise like a phoenix, reborn, and conquer all that the world can throw its way.
Both inspiring and beautiful at the same time, this poem is a must read for those of us who do not want to leave the comforting shelter of their existence. Even if that existence is one of fear and fake comforts.
An exceptional piece of writing, Misty. One to be very proud of. Very well done!

Aloha Misty, this is captivating and very powerful yet the hand is so gentle. A meditation for the spirit. For me these are words that have effect and inspire. Beautifully woven but I enjoyed the 3 opening lines. Something so magical in those lines. Izzy

Baptism through fire! Another Phoenix metaphor lol. Good. Continue to persevere.

But yeah, try to write a very short story about a certain event or scenario that occurs in a Post-Apocalyptic wasteland.
Oh Misty! How beautiful this is.
The swan...born through fire...the phoenix sprung to life. You captured it so perfectly...so poignantly. This is a beautiful piece of writing! I particularly love these lines:
Through the fire, through the flames
you emerged like a swan
Stolen grace,

Always nice to see your lovely face in my reviews.. ;) I am very glad this female anthem speaks to you... ;) We women face a tough road against the guys who "pretend" to be the best thing since "sensitive male writing bread".... And other lesser forms of the male species... I want to write a piece after working on my story edits.... about a type of man all men should strive to be... about REAL men and how they act... ;) I hope to see you there.. :) I will check out your page too this weekend... I've had my head in the clouds.. Forgive me love..

liked the juxtaposition of love, & its "Edges". sometimes, it's spiced... sometimes... a bit cougared, so sometimes... alike phenox -- always arising.. & "RE-formed" in anew pattern of love, perhaps, whatever format it's treasured with, it's always bewitched throu' something we call desire -- "Through The Fire". a very astonishing poetry you've come up with. well polished title as well. completely had my attention, eventually.
A very inspiring and impactful write indeed, Misty! A very straight, clear and strong message delivered with such a nice flow.. Beautiful!
It came like a new year wish for me..
Wish you a veryHappy New Year!

Beautifully inspiring Misty! What a great way to start the morning of the new year.
The most stunning part of the poem is its strong voice for the Swan (the person you are mentioning) who have seen and encountered life's struggles and pains yet he/she fought with all her strength to stand tall in this world. Inspirational poems are never easy to write because most of the time they miss the fresh ideas to reach her readers and yours got everything my frnd. Hope the Swan rise up with more hope and courage.
Happy new year from this side of the world.
Sincerely
Dhiman

Some always "play" with the 'matches' that burn them ...not always from innocence. We ARE invulnerable 'til we aren't, and then? Well, some cry and yet some smile.
One of my favorite poems! So good, so well written. It has so much hope and strength. I'm just; wow. Love it!
