IN THE DEPTHS

IN THE DEPTHS

A Poem by M. L. F.
"

TO MY ANGELS, THREE..

"

In the depths of her womb grew a darkening tomb

While the earth crashed around her eclipsing her moon

And the mother, so far along, reeled in great shock

When the little heart no longer thump as it ought

And the soul of the angel whom heaven had sought

Soared upwards to heaven without a sad thought

But except for his mother asleep in her bed

He stopped first to hover there over her head

Watching her sleep, he laid hand on her heart

And whispered, “In heaven, we never shall part”

Bravo! Nice rhyme scheme and good emotional depth, I like dark poetry as it is closer to realism and how can you truly know real happiness if you have never been touched by the pain and sorrow of the darker side of life. I give it five out of five Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

Wow, Misty...beautiful. I had chills throughout the entire piece. It is a tragic situation, but the mood wasn't overwhelmingly sad and negative, but a hopeful piece reminding us that those who move on are in better places...and they're waiting for us to join them.

From the Tao Te Ching by my favorite philosopher Lao Tzu:
"Watch the turmoil of beings,
but contemplate their return.
Each separate being in the universe
returns to the common source.
Returning to the source is serenity."

This theme arises again and again throughout the world, regardless of religion or societal tendencies - we all return to the source from which we sprung. That and the personal experiences I've had that I'll tell you about another time fill me with surety that you will indeed meet your three boys again.
