IN THE DEPTHS

IN THE DEPTHS

A Poem by M. L. F.
"

TO MY ANGELS, THREE..

"

In the depths of her womb grew a darkening tomb

While the earth crashed around her eclipsing her moon

And the mother, so far along, reeled in great shock

When the little heart no longer thump as it ought

And the soul of the angel whom heaven had sought

Soared upwards to heaven without a sad thought

But except for his mother asleep in her bed

He stopped first to hover there over her head

Watching her sleep, he laid hand on her heart

And whispered, “In heaven, we never shall part”

Bravo! Nice rhyme scheme and good emotional depth, I like dark poetry as it is closer to realism and how can you truly know real happiness if you have never been touched by the pain and sorrow of the darker side of life. I give it five out of five Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap! Clap!

Beautiful. Sadness and happiness together. If this is the level of poetry, I am not a poet. Looking forward for some tips from you.

You're welcome Misty.
Very haunting and piercing. I like that the poem, while it has despair and sadness, it focused more on hope and positivity than anything.

Thank you Clifford.. I have a hopeful heart on the subject, so I am glad that came through... :)
What a sad story. I like the conclusion and the bit about the soul of the angel. One small thing that does jar for me is the word thump.! I think that beats might be better.
Well done.

This is hauntingly beautiful. An amazing piece of writing.

Filled with sadness, loss, despair yet ending on a truimphant note, full of love and hope and rays of light straight to the heart.
This is beautifully rhymed, flowing like a river of sunbeams in the darkness.
Tragic in its theme, hopeful in its spirit and courageous in its construction.
A very fine piece of writing, Misty. Certainly amongst the better poems i have read here on cafe in my three months of being here.
Simply brilliant. Well Done!

Yes- the ones that where the womb is there tomb- we will surely meet again.
And I believe there are experiences that transcend what people think we might just write.
It is true.
Powerful, tender, sad, and assuring.
