He hates living in a big city. Huge buildings and the sound of rushing cars scares him. Windows on the buildings look like eyes who watch every small insecure step you make. People in cars passing by are always mad. They keep screaming into their phones or at people who are minding their own business and quietly walking to their destination.
City parks are something you can barely call a park. Broken bottles, drunk 10-yearolds and dog poop on every step you take through dirty grass. You can’t stay there long unless you’d like to be attacked by a crazy dog or a homeless alcoholic trying to steal money from you. That’s why he rather stays in the heart of scary buildings or in his small warm bedroom.
His room has dark, blue, mostly covered in posters and photos walls. There’s also a small window, a desk and a bed with Disney sheets. He likes his room. It’s the only room in this city that feels like home.
He doesn’t have many friends in London. People think he’s a geek even though his grades are average. School feels like a prison, not a place where he used to love spending time in. It is big with blank white walls, unfriendly staff and kids who care only about themselves.
There is this one girl that makes things better though. Long black hair, the prettiest brown eyes and a perfect figure. She’s popular and can have every boy she wants. David noticed her on his first day in new school. He often thinks how nice would it be if they ended up together. It’s like a perfect dream with a hint of reality.

He loves mid-term breaks. He always stays with his grandma at the country.
There are only small, nice houses and kind, happy people. Walks in the nature. That’s his definition of perfection. No cars, only green trees waiting for someone to come by. Birds singing different songs every time. No drunk kids or crazy dogs.
Just him and his thoughts.
He takes a small walk and reaches his favourite spot. An old tree, forgotten by everyone always gives him a warm welcome.
He was thinking about Anna again when he heard footsteps. He didn’t know if he should run away or stay still. So he just stood there not knowing what to do. A person he never saw before came to the clearing. A girl, probably the same age, extremely beautiful. Her green eyes looked straight through him and then stayed focused on his face.
“Um, hello˝ he said. “I never noticed you here before. I’m David.˝
“Hi. I’m Sara. I’m staying with my grandma for a week.˝
They spent the day together. He found out she also lives in London and goes to art college. She likes similar music and hates big cities.
She loves nature.
They just clicked together perfectly and Anna has been forgotten forever.
