a sacred gift, a faithful servant
A Poem by
"So let me bring you golden rings, / Baubles, gems, and lovely things."
So let me bring you golden rings, Baubles, gems, and lovely things Brought from every far off place, Tributes of exotic grace.
Earrings made of star sunstone, Precious vials of cologne; Flowers of an unknown beauty, Fresh cordials, sweet and fruity.
Statuettes to bring you fortune, Horses trained by the Bedouin; Choirs to sing you hymns of praise, Garlands, wreaths, and exotic bouquets.
Brightest lamps to light your way, The softest pillows on which to lay; Tapestries to enrich your home, And for your hair an ivory comb.
For you I hunt down every treat, And lay them there before your feet; Each and every piece a prize To bring delight unto your eyes.
So let me bring you golden rings, Baubles, gems, and lovely things Brought from every far off place, Tributes of exotic grace.
