In the Good-byeA Poem byI knew you when you left.
We met, and were unknown
to each other; strangers that passed through each other's minds for only moments. We said "Hello", and introduced ourselves, but still we were strangers. Still we were unknown. Through the years, we met again and again, saying "Hello" and "How are you?", all the while getting to know each other. And yet, we were still unknown to each other, for still we had our separate selves. It was not until you left that I knew you. It was not until you were gone that I recognized you. Only in the goodbye were we familiar to each other. © 2012 |
