Seeing and Believing

Seeing and Believing

A Poem by

Have you seen a sea of

Sand-colored grass

On a breezy, right-before-fall day

With the wind making waves,

Making the grasses come alive

And dance?

Have you seen two rainbows

Sitting on top of eachother

Right after a light rain has passed

And the sun glints its rays

Through the clouds left behind?

Have you seen skin so old

That it has sun spots

And burn spots

And thousands of lines

Leading you through the wearer’s life,

And calluses,

Yet the skin is still beautiful?

Have you seen friendship so great

That it withstands years

That it is effortless,

Free as young love

And strong as family,

And you no longer see the flaws,

Only the goodness?

Have you seen beauty?

I have.
