Back Together

Back Together

A Poem by

My heart is as black as coal, its broken apart; it isn't whole.

Until you came along I had no soul, I was left alone dug deep in a hole.

Each string of heartbreak was more than I could take.

I lie awake at night in a fog of endless heartache.

You've patched me up with the love you've given,

You dragged me from the pits of Hell to the glory of Heaven.

But I ask myself, “Is it possible to forgive?

Forgive for the pain I endured?

Forgive those who have tortured?”

With your love I’m reassured that I can forgive.

You pulled the pieces back together once more.

No more pain, we've won this war.
