Don't You

Don't You

A Poem by

Ignore the laughs, stares, and glares.
Don't you dare compare your flairs
To theirs.

Be your best,
Don't divest your blessed heart of
Impress for a life of repressed stress.

Show yourself respect,
Don't neglect, misdirect, or reject.
You affect the select you swore to protect,
Sweet one, don't you disrespect.

I know you feel alone,
Don't you turn to stone or say you're on your own,
Ignore the groans, you're not unknown.

A few comments that I hope you take in the spirit in which they are offered. Not sure if you mean flairs or flares in line 2. Line 5 seems to be missing something after the word 'of" or at the very least it doesn't flow into the next line. Should you decide to make any changes let me know and I will give it another read.

Hmm that would actually work a lot better. I'm dumb for not trying that. Thank you.
