That One Night

the beginning

Sophomore year was amazing so far for the young girl. At the age of 15, she already was popular. She knew almost everyone in school. Her and her boyfriend had been together for now a couple of months. She never felt so alive, except for when she was with him. Her boyfriend, was a 14 year old freshman named Tim. Everyone knew him as the party king.

Trying to fit in, she did whatever he did. When ever they went out, they smoked weed, cigarettes, and downed at least a 40 ounce. She didn't care about anyone else except for him. She told all of this to her best friend, Nick. He knew every detail about their relationship. He knew it better than the back of his own hand.

One night, they were drunk, and she decided to push the boundaries a little bit further. They've been going out for 3 months. Why not? That night, they both lost their virginity. She never felt more in love with anybody, then at that moment.

Soon, it became a regular thing. At least once a week, they would go to a party and have sex when it was dying down. Everyone in school knew they were active. Then came the Halloween party. They both went as vampires so they can match. That night, they never thought it would happen. It broke.

She found out later that she was pregnant. at the age of 15, the spoiled girl got the biggest shock of her life. She was having a kid. When she told Tim, they freaked. Tim got so stressed, that he started doing meth. Being her normal self, she joined him. Through out the pregnancy, she partied, ate junk food, and did whatever she wanted. She didn't care that she had a little baby growing inside her.

Then, on June 2nd, 1996, it happened. She told Tim to hold her purse. He was arrested for meth because he was selling to to buy diapers. He was sentenced to the detention center. He did this for me and yet we've never met. She didn't care. 4 days later, a little boy was born.

"He needs surgery now!" The little boy was born with a hole in his heart. After the surgery, they put him in the nursery. She didn't see little Derek Matthews for 2 days. When she saw him, he wouldn't breast feed, so she had to buy formula. That was just more money. Then, she fought with Tim. He was coming back from the detention center and he wanted to see Derek.

On the way, Nick slipped in like a snake and took her. He asked her out and they were now dating. When Tim got there, Nick was holding Derek in the other room. "can I see my kid," said Tim. She said the words that she thought she would never say to him. She said," No, you can't get out of here. You don't deserve to be here." Tim then left and never returned.

It's a blur since then, but I wish it happened differently. I wish I would've met him. But, she didn't want that. Now, I have 3 little half brothers and 1 little half sister. Throughout life, you learn to hate people and learn to love others. When others hate you, and you fall in love, you end up being screwed. At the end, you always end up writing letters from a broken a*****e.
