~ Iced Road

In a dream, in which I found myself

I hiked somewhere, I have never been

Everything so distant, it blurred my sight

Like black blindness darkened the light

You were invisible, and not seen.

The road of snow was heavy and long

The colored sky, and the clouds among

I never would find the way back home

And also, I forgot my mobile phone

But I just knew, I loved it here, all alone.

It seemed, I weren't in the modern times;

This world was just created in my mind

All was the opposite way, and in despite.

The snowy road, not even was long and white

My unconscious just loved to hide?

Was I in another century? I was not sure;

Fragments, of people flashed my mind

Nothing was glamorous here, no mankind

I was simple, like a statue, standing sometimes still

And sleepwalked the iced road by my own will

Hi Elisa,

I read this poem a few weeks ago, and touched gently on its surface. Just now I have revised, and can make no excuses for my delay. I am exceedingly sorry for neglecting you, and hope that you might forgive me. I suppose that I am like a bird that flits in and out of your lovely pieces, catching them at their finest moments- there are do many. Perhaps I am really constrained through wish to spend the proper time with every good quality these pieces have to offer, when I land.

This one is particularly strong. It has a certain air, speaks to a certain notion- it is unique. I think I would describe this piece as ethereal, but its form of uniqueness does not come from that trait alone. The lightness of the words inspire the mind to a greater wisdom. You bring awareness to the other worlds in which we live; this is done on a daily level. What you have essentially captured is a 'fragment,' of thought. The fabric of the mind is so interesting to examine: it almost has a scientific thought to it. A little purple cloud seems to pass through its content . . . as it floats by we can see and touch something rare, and then it lifts . . . What fine talent you have, my friend. I will be back for you soon, my lovely friend.

Little sadness and nostalgia radiate from your "Iced road"...everyone should walk alone his own road, even there are so many, so different. I feel the energy here, the love of life, even covered with ice and white..In dreams often we see places which are so familiar, as if we have been there, but we haven`t. Or places which are created by our mind, so strange and so real. Your walking and loneliness on this road seem very true and metaphorical in the same time. You feel like a wandering soul, on the ice way, which makes you amazed and afraid from what the future holds. I loved the last verses, and all the nice rhymes!

Nothing was glamorous here, no mankind
I was simple, like a statue, standing sometimes still
And sleepwalked the iced road by my own will

There's a place... there is a space... where each of us finds that much more.. the search to find it is worth every second of perhaps, a very long journey.

Methinks you found it here in your gloriously spiritual writing, within its glow is precious silence.

Beautiful, Elisa.

Loneliness and still in the middle of nowhere in a cold winter's day some people feel this every day. no escape from loneliness grip an everyday expression the lonely live. I loved the deepness of your thoughts and how you paid all the cost. Being out there on your own will it chills me still.

Aren't we all doing the same thing in our lives? Trying to escape the norm of the society that binds us. This solitude brings in calmness and peace to our weary and stray soul. I and anyone who dreams or has ever dreamt of escaping the reality, can relate to this poem. Very well written.

Thank you so much sweety, I'll be back for your writings. :)
Oh, how homesick I feel! I love the cold and the dressing for it...the boots, jeans and long scarves. It gets cold in our mountains here in California, and is quite beautiful and serene there.

Your poetry has a way of transporting your reader to another realm of time. It is an admirable craft, one you have so well mastered!

This is the best poem I've ever read on the subject of solitude and it seems winter is the best season for that. Thank you for this piece, Elisa.
