Close -- you are, within the million different sounds your voice just "is"

Where I could hear the music of silence, and our thoughts of equality

The attractive sound lingers, to slowly build on each tone note to get

Thinking, perceiving, to be the perfect stairways of tranquil melody

Reaching to be music, to be one with me, in harmony, intensely -- close

I could see this fitting well in a dictionary after the word "soulmate". But the photo you chose to place along with it made me think harder. The woman is alone which had me wondering if it was a closeness with herself - an inward, spiritual thing. Either way I viewed it was beautiful which speaks to the strength of the poem. Thank you.

This, to me, is the epitome of being alone but knowing --- believing, feeling even --- that someone is out there, possibly made just for you...whether you meet them or not, you simply know you're connected in spirit. Sometimes, in the right place and time, that's all you need.

I liked the presentation...the restrictiveness you put though --- puts a damper in the 3rd line...may be reword that one...but the rest of this is tight...I kept looking into the 3rd line and could not put it in with the rest of the verse...just the way it ends...I believe:
