~ What Remains

If you can dream - and open the gate to beauty;

If you can love - and follow the music to your heart;

If you can touch -  the untouchable thoughts by thinking

What remains, inside of you, is smart.

If you can walk - through the deepest pain and hate;

If you can be - without being too much;

If you are proud - of the truth that you’ve been spoken;

What remains, is your strength to embrace and touch.

What remains - is most important deep inside of you;

What remains - can make all dreams come true;

What remains - is your living compass to inside trust

If you can dream, with love from flesh to dust.

Aw, Elisa. I missed checking out your poems. This was beautiful. I love the message of this poem. Very soothing. Kept me glued at the moment. I was suddenly reminded about certain things that I should have worked on in the past. I learned something from this though. It was such a great work from you. Pretty nostalgic. Keep writing. ^^

This piece flowed like moving art to me. You've spoken about such an intangible, hidden, and "wordless" subject like internal grace with amazing ease. If you are planning one day (which I hope you do) of collecting your poetry into a book for many more to read, make sure not to forget this one. It is a genuine masterpiece.

Thank you ever so much for this review friend, your words are as poetic gold to me. I feel humbled.
This piece solidly hit home but with the wisdom-in-Zen-garden ease and feel, quite the accomplishment.
Love to find these as my day's first read, setting a tone.

A magical journey of words, Elisa. Such rich meaning in every line. Yes, what is most important is inside of you....in your soul and in your heart. The imagery makes me sing, the words make me smile....absolutely beautiful poetry. oh, and HUP HOLLAND HUP! :) Lydi**

Thank you very much !! :) :)
I could relate to this poem, it connected with me and so I liked it.

Written with a strong voice and the facts are presented clearly and concisely.

This from the message in your poem and how it starts.

"If you can dream - and open the gate to beauty;
If you can love - and follow the music to your heart;
If you can touch - the untouchable thoughts by thinking
What remains, inside of you, is smart."

Thank you so much for your words Anika, I'm glad you can relate dear Raven Sis.
If poetry doesn't make you feel "something", then what is there? I need that surge to go through me, that "lump in the throat" feeling when you know you've read something that will stay with you forever...that's what this is, my dear...and how lovely it is!

Love,
Kelly
