True it is, in all I believe, you are near, you are.

Your voice whispers, in silence, you say so much,

With nothing, but ever so felt, within me.

Your heart still feels; but hidden

 

I hear your footsteps, when you walk to work;

Sometimes I hear you thinking, and I see you write

Your thoughts down on a napkin, for no paper sheet

Is near, and you smell the air of things, you can’t place

 

When you look above, you talk to the birds,

And you make songs in your head, by their melodies.

Your left hand, and fingers, hit the cold iron bars

Of the same fence every day anew

 

You draw art in your mind, by all the little things

And remember, once we painted together

Our visions, of beauty and delicate colors

Like we wrote each other each night

 

True it is, I once so loved you,

Today your thoughts, are far away,

They are a wild stream of waves lost

Within a sea too big, too large…

 

True is the day, of tomorrow’s change;

   “Today on the stroke of Sunlight”.

Some loves are never forgotten. Even though we get over the loss and we may not want to be with that person, etc. There are relationships that make an impact and even change us in dramtic ways. I know sometimes- by surprise i find myself traveling back to a lover or two in my mind and you have captured this perfectly and clearly expressed all those emotions that go along with looking back. Great piece Elisa!

When we almost are over someone, certain memories always will turn in our minds, on certain moments, or when certain songs play... Memories of love long lost. They can be heart wrenching, but sometime it is for the better. As long as you keep the fond ones close to you it was not for nothing.
