~ Back to my Continent

Sigh, it is good to be back, on earthy ground,

To taste a fine red wine, and read the Newspaper

     I was far away, and missed my music;

The roads, and the chaotic streets,

I think I might have missed, a decennia,

Of not being wrapped up, within the love of Europe,

But more in the weightlessness of love,

Where one can forget herself, to the wholeness

Of another, and the art of slipping away,

By doors, as gateways, to a new year each time

I wonder, and have wondered for so long,

How the taste felt on my tongue again, of this

Fresh made coffee, and the croissant from the oven

He just made for me this morning…

Hello Friend, So long it is since I have visited you here!

Thank you for this delicious slice of you, sprinkled so artfully with the carefree sentiments of the aesthete. The seeming causality of your writing masks the comfortable skill with which you dress the display of this window into your soul! What impresses upon me is the way in which you use the familiar to convey intimacy and the heightened affinity of love. The simplest pleasures are perhaps the most delightful, the buttery warm embrace of a perfect coffee soaking into a REAL croissant that melts on ones tongue (you can only get them in a few places really!) and the comfort of acceptance.

Poetic cuisine that thoroughly satisfies the imaginative palate!

Sometimes it is the most simple pleasures we find grounding us to our sanity. We often do not listen to the inner voice guiding us to a more joyful experience.
Why would you be away from something like, "the weightlessness of love"? Maybe it cannot be helped? Maybe you need to keep your legs under you and not let circumstance or others preferences keep you from the place you know so well as "home"?
Either way, you are there as you write this poetry, even if only in your heart. My wish for you is for you to find a way to live this as your reality each day!
Sending much love and so happy to read a new poem from your pen. :)

A touch of Paris, the city of love, that is his heart and to where you have returned. This is a homecoming in the most charming sense. Sometimes we may slip away from reality and find ourselves caught in a dream, a fantasy of what could be. We can't tell right from wrong or reality from illusion with our thoughts and emotions scattered all over the place, but true love will ground us and bring us home.. Although it has many faces and comes in various forms, you know where it is you wish to keep foot. You know where it is you belong.

Thank you for the very kind words jacob! :)
Oh, it is so good to be home! There is nothing like the familiar tastes and smells that just make everything seem ok, and all years erased and you are young again... Ah, I was homesick all weekend because it was raining here... I told my mom, I miss the rain and mud from home, not the sun and beach... But this is so lovely and nostalgic, sis! Glad you are home, and here too. And Thankyou for sharing these pieces of your home with us.
