~ November Days

There is a cold sharp wind

Short days of light,

Move too quickly

Around the axis,

At least it seems so,

The days go so much

Faster then I keep track.

Where I walk,

The sun shines,

A soft and

Misty gleam,

Above the cold water,

Like a blanket,

To hold it warm, and

Extend the season…

Trees feel lost, and

Are tired and powerless,

I imagine myself in their

Fallen leaves,

Hiding there

For a while,

To feel me warmer.

This poem painted a vivid and beautiful picture in my mind. It took me on a "mental vacation". I love the way the words flow together. I think the format you used for the words was perfect. This poem relies a lot on imagery, yet it still has a lot of emotion. It is mysterious and complex, yet it still has a simplicity to it. A gorgeous and wonderfully written poem!

Around the axis,

Fantastic atmospheric write. Yes, grab the light while you can and snuggle and sleep the rest.

As the air around us cools and the trees lose their leaves we lament the lost light. But if we look hard enough we can make the best of what we have and seek the warmth within our reach. It's a really lovely look at a most transitional month. A lovely job.

Excellent work. I love the references to trees and wanting to hide in what they have shed for winters arrival. I like autumn feel and the sounds. Reading its like from I afar I see you walking through the barren trees. Leaves in the air and then seeing you sink to ground.

I like this one. The trees are all now feeling sick and will soon look dead to us. But they are not dead, just getting rid of attachments to protect themselves. Trees are very intelligent beings. Anyway, I liked how you described the mist as a blanket, keeping the water warm. If only the season would last longer, but what can we do. Another great work from you, hope you're keeping warm!
