~ The Dragonfly dreamt Me

Dark waters, deathly dehydrated,

By the arid light of the devils Moon,

A glimpse of grey-turquoise, transformed

Originated by blue and green,

              The changing incidence of the light,

              Daylight, was to come, too soon!

And so I rested upon a wet broken branch,

In this forbidden land,

The glossy maple leaves,

              Reflected just one star;

              I saw you, shining upon this water,

With these quadruple wings, from afar

Tired, but ever safe here in this land,

A moment, of peace merged

With water, wood, some sand…

I did entered your dream,

Where you gave me your visions…

               The world felt home, through

                Light transmissions,

A mood of gentle euphoria,

Glided slowly through our thin veins,

Where we became a Dragonfly;

            Four eyes of passion,

            Seen through two, never to extinct,

Love in rest for a life-time,

On this quiet lakeside interlinked ~

This is surreal, Ovid-esque. A great meditation on beauty and escape from our corporeal monotony. The dragonfly dreaming you as the vehicle for your dream as the dragonfly is brilliant. Metaphysical, the lines dance and brim with aesthetic bliss, but it's the spaces in-between that tempt of something ethereal, religious. The one-ness of everything. Loved it.

This was tangibly dreamy and liquid, you never fail to entertain. This poem excels as well in a clever and polished visual layout. I trust you are well old friend!

Very very true.... ;-)
Clever surprise ending and great idea of a unique perspective to write from! I like your unusual rhythmic structure. It is broken and jumbled slightly like the detritus that litters the dragonfly's landscape.

For sure! :)
What an amazing surreal dream, full of imagination, colors and light! I just wonder of your great talent to crave the words and give them shape...Dragonfly is so mysterious and lovely creature, specially from its name, its wings are so fragile and transparent. It is great transformation, also it is connected with the underworld, with the invisible universe ,where there are fairies and love, and where humans also can possibly fly. It reminds me of dream inside a dream, view from a high, and even this dragonfly expresses water element of your soul.... :) ♥

Gracias mi lindo Hermano!!! :) you felt the Elisita lol!!! ((((TYPED TOO RAPIDO)))) jajajaja
Its beautiful. Its not rhymed yet it flows.The two introductory couplets really a good appetizer. Preparing the readers palate and taste buds for more sultry courses. If I guess it right, the author might be describing low tide cause by the moons positional orbit around the earth. Its like free verses

What an amazing dream sis, the dragonfly, it is so lovely in its perfectly still state, and the best flier of all animals... Anyway, this was vividly painted and I love how there was a separation yet no separation, a merging though already merged, between the poet and the dragonfly, and something else... peace and appreciation and love merged here too. Lovely and effective, my dear Elisa!
