~ To Daydream

It seems to be my second world,

Only I can enter,

And maybe you will too;

Yes, it’s hard to trace,

At least I see four different

Dilapidated chambers each time,

I close my eyes, and there is maybe more

To sketch, and catch…

I live in different worlds,

In different places,

And I cross over at them

At day, or night…

There is always a new little

World behind my eyelids

I catch up on, I embrace.

And I still hope

To find you there;

However a mind and

Especially a mind like mine,

Can be so terribly

In denial to that.

So it makes me blind,

All blind to find,

And that makes me a searcher.

However I saw all,

There is a rule to nature

In my tiny brain,

That flies temporary,

Around them who reflect me,

This gravity of love

Is what is normal,

It makes my wings to fight,

But also down to earth…

But I lived it, and when

It should be gone by light,

It returns for it is profound love,

And it’s not manipulated.

It must be European love...

Almost too heavy to carry-

And that without,

I even dreamt for it,

I wished for it to be as

Normal, and as light,

To take it forever with me;

But alas, it rests on my back,

Like a heavy sin;

Though I am strong enough to carry it;

To suffer it, and to listen to it,

So after all I come to

The conclusion;

It is so beautiful,

To just feel-

The weight of love,

So I can see you

Through a single touch…

When I turn around,

Even if it’s for a second

I do not care,

Love is flickering in my mind,

It always does, It’s a bond love

And I have.

And then it becomes the blind spot

The ever returning blind spot

Of transient beauty;

I know, I’ve entered

The real dream world

By then;

Where weight, transforms to light…

This transcendent realm, this universe outside the universe, where love is gravity, and the sun, and the moon, pulling and shining and controlling the tides that lap the waters of life against the shores of our existence. This world, this paradise of profundity, you must protect it, yes, but do not deny the splendour to all souls. We must share our love, for if we do not, what is it worth? Excellent poem, Elisa :)

Such rich poignant longing and beauty in each line... swept me away... how well I know this wandering into translucent worlds that often seem more real than the world beyond the window. Beautifully rendered.

As dreamers of life we often find ourselves trapped. Your words in this are inspirational and heart felt to us all as writers.

Pen on my friend.

Thank you so much for your encouriging review, my friend. I shall pen on :) Eli x
Elisa please allow me for a moment to enter this " another world " of yours that I so often traverse as a child, in my naive and feeble mind...and even until now .It has become my escape. My secret hiding place when life reality is way too painful or way too overwhelming for me to accept. Somehow in this other world failures becomes a possibility. And we so often time travel back in the far away corners of our memory lane. Where " What If and Regrets " sometimes intersect . To rewrite history of what we could have been and what we should have done and what we could have become. Don't we all mourned for a love that never transpired. And love that was forever lost in a whirlwind of happenstance...
This piece reminds of a famous classic movie played by Christopher Reeves " Somewhere In Time " ...

How Beautiful .. I've read it and re read it numerous times, i just adore it !
It takes me to another dimension where it's easy to drop all that relates to the heaviness of reality ... although it's not easy to meet your bare soul at that level and portrait it very well, your words made it easy to feel, imagine and explore the very best moment you choose to capture ...

I love this creative piece,

Wow. I am floored with this gracious poem. So beautiful and truthful about this burden we as dreamers and artist bear. To be honest I don't know if I have ever read anything that comes this close to the core of the matter as your words do here. Painting yourself in the lines.. in the depths. And during these moments we truly see one another as we are and where. No matter how fleeting we hold dearly to this. BEAUTIFUL!!!!!! xo
