~ Life Through A Magnifying Glass

You know, there were some times,

       Back in the old and lovely days,

              Where we played with dolls, and read comic books --

       Now we have all grown older, we have become so wise,

And see our lives, as older ones…

         Still I often wonder where I am,

                And where I lost the little me,

                       Where I walk, right now,

                And where I’ll find my true luck, and be --

     Yet, I know where I am, and even when I’m lost,

There is always a little sign through

    The little mundane things,

               That I follow, and that I see…

These little signs, live in every moment,

     In every glimpse, they shine,

          And so I embrace each gasp of breath,

               Along the day, and I’ll be fine,

The coffee in the morning,

     The news paper, on my way,

          The lunch I eat at noon,

The flowers along the road,

    And the love around me at that day --

      We shouldn’t forget how beautiful;

            Life really is, for some just do forget,

   Although, there shall forever be a missing part,

         I think there will be in every romantic heart,

               A part that cannot be fulfilled,

      A part that truly hurts;

         So let this searching and almost mature heart,

               Tell you, the days, can be soon over;

     So please truly enjoy your life, and don’t look ever back,

         Be in love with it, embrace it tight,

              For missing it, will be your lack…

Words that speak to all living souls upon this orb we call Earth. Time rolls forward even if we are standing still, thus it be wise to keep moving and breathing in the moments of beauty when they happen around us. I couldn't help but sigh in joy as well as smile in a sense of sweet sorrow at these wonderfully woven words, for they hit the heart spark and make it remember all the moments of the clock lived thus far.
So true it is though and it is what brings the smile... Those tiny moments of light that we can look forward to tomorrow.

Great Ink!

"Now we have all grown older, we (have become) so wise"- try not to switch between tenses in the same lines.

"A part that (cannot) be fulfilled"-just switched around the negative :)

This poem is beautiful; it's one of my favorites. Your photo also added to the experience (I wish I had a window like that).

Thank you very much! :)
Keep smiling, Elisa. Your words are so very true - life is so short and none of us have a guarantee on tomorrow. Your thoughts reflect my own this morning. Always too much to do, and then, blink, the time is gone and what have I really accomplished? Another day, another dollar . . . But at least we're alive and each moment can be enjoyed if we just make the effort. Thanks for lending me your magnifying glass this morning. Write on!

Thank you so much big Sis... tears.... :( and :) love you!xxxxx
I just learned yesterday that a friend of mine died from a heart attack. I hadn't seen him in a few years, but I often envied his life...his big house, his marriage, even his car. He had it all at such a young age...at least that's what I thought until yesterday. Now, I can only think of his wife.

You've touched on a nerve with this one, Elisa...a most profound and inspiring message.

Bless you!

I don't have the rights words to tell you how much i enjoyed this, partly because I do not posses the ability to write such positive words and deliver such a message as clear as you do and that just made me smile, your talent is shining brightly here Elisa!

So very honest you have reached out to us today with words of beautiful wisdom and truth. Indeed, we look for where we have been, who we remember as we and often forget to embrace this that is ours right now. Wonderfully written my sweet friend.

I hope you feel better soon.

Beautiful piece, full of life and pointing out the most precious time for us to live! I can admire that write, it`s full of details, which fill my heart with joy and memories about the past...Nostalgia can be so good, when the light of the memories glow...And we have to keep and understand still that child inside each of us, as he see the things better than we do. The wise grown people ask so many questions, on which they don`t receive any answer, until they become children again :) SO truth and profound write! really beautiful, dearest Eli!

I feel absolutely the same! (hug and kiss xx)
It's difficult for many people to enjoy the present being that they carry so much heavy baggage from their past within their minds. Unfortunately, dropping all that baggage isn't easy since most of it is hidden within one's subconscious mind where it affects one's conscious mind in detrimental ways without one realizing it. Many are in need of aggressive psychotherapy if they are to exorcize psychic demons from their past. Replacing psychotherapy with pills as pharmaceutical companies would like does no good, and just makes the situation worse. There's no easy path to self enlightenment.
