~ For Many Years of Thoughts and Whispers
Now you’re sitting there my love,
Another year passed you by the lane
For many, many days together,
The wind crossed your windowpane...
So often we rode together,
But those times are dust by now;
Your thoughts rusty, touched by the weather
As once we saw flowers along the road
This old library soaked you in,
The immortal story to continue due
Life getting older, to move you within
The immortality smell of ink’s and hue
Do you still remember? us laying down together,
And hung above our heads this rood
There were we drove like new born children
And where the moon did watch the wood…
You still hit some notes, on your old piano,
Now and then, a song flies by on ivory keys,
Your hands still move, as the old days,
I saw you real, and fell back onto my knees
Now here I am, old, fallen and next to you;
Seeing you smiling by every book
Traveling your mind to youth, holding your hand,
Whilst I sit still, appreciate you, there, and look...
This is beautiful. It feels like a love story from another time, like it could have been written generations ago. Ah, the immortality of ink. It shall remain when the flesh is but dust.
You have re-made yourself since you've been gone. Your poetry is different. I loved this poem.

Damien thank you for all you do... :) I'm happy to have you around.
reading this takes me back from the old memories.... and coming back just to see again how beautiful it was on how i grow next to the found love - on which is writing... this piece takes me into a different perspective... a great piece big sis.... i love this title... it's well suited to what you want to show us in your words!
Like words, we can always twist our thoughts and form them into any shape we want them to be. You just did that on this write. You skillfully showed us lovely visions of yourself and your one and true love with your beautiful words and classic style. Very alluring my dear. The last two lines gave me chills.
Whilst I sit still, appreciate you, there, and look...
My one and only love…

A beautiful transition from past to present, memories and affection should fix themselves in a person - if they're truly genuine, of course. People come and go, flit in and out of life but it's only self who knows the right ones to keep by, to cherish. To write poetry for.
This makes me feel goosebumps...So real, vivid and touching picture of deep faithful love! it`s expressed in almost classical style, very gentle and melancholic feeling, memories always return to our real "self". You are a true traveler in time and space, dear Eli! Love this one...

You have outdone yourself with this, Eli. Simply beautiful. You are an old soul who knows the value of time, and each moment we have. This poem clearly portrays the perfect essence of love, your compassion, your soul, and these lines prove that.

I danced and hiked, I wrote and biked... I did all I was forgotten... made music, in the late hours, and catched up with friends, to jam.... still doing all, this place gives me other satisfaction. Brain satisfaction, but real life can't be replaced ever, as you know also too well my dear. For it's most precious. I thank you greatly for your time Traci, and the effort, I know how rushy it can be here... it's so good to be back though, and catch up with you :D (((HUGS)))

I'm ever grateful to you my friend, :) for all you are do, and will be! little gem!
Love through the ages-it is the connector to all that is right and good---such a peaceful glow upon this writes air -- it truly reads as "golden" as perfect moments should be.

You are so so right on that point. Ah, nice to talk to you.
This vision has so much love, and it shows how sometimes our bodies can not cash the infinite checks our hearts and souls write to those we love so deeply. You have been in great forms with your work, and it has been such a joy to journey in your words. You're rhythm and rhymes have been so tight and on point. And your subject matter keeps reaching into the great well of life and showing us what it really means to live.
These lines are my favorites:
There were we drove like new born children
And where the moon did watch the wood…

Hummm … deliciously refreshing; how you captured the essence of a true and dedicated relationship with compassion and respect. Great write! I was reminded of this line from Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, Act III, Sc. I - Love sought is good, but given unsought is better.
