~ There at Home

A new day was there, I woke up into this huge cave

As big as a mouth of an animal of forlorn times

The sun reverberated through the caverns,

I stretched myself, and smiled, I was ready for a new day

He stood there, in the line of the sunlight

Too far away to see his face, but I knew he was

Off duty today, and human… slowly I walked to him

“Where are we”? I asked, He answered: “you’re home”.

I didn’t needed to know more, it felt as home,

And every breath I took, translated my heart

Into little smaller pieces of happiness

Here was no hate, or sorrow, it felt just peaceful

Many sound effects echoed through the cracks,

White gulls flew by, and sang their own song

And then I felt his warm hand on my shoulder,

“Let’s go outside, my lady, I'll show you my secret”.

In some ways this reminded me of the scene from Inception where they wash up on the beach of the deepest level of dreams. In your poem, sunlight really resonates on that beach and delivers true purity and cleansing to everything it touches. The cave especially seems to be full of light and promise for a delightful adventure with a special someone.

Wow, thank you PQ, so happy you are here... x
Perfect description of not only the new day, but the feeling that, yes, today is and can be a new day. For all of us. Anywhere your heart can be translated into smaller pieces of happiness, sound like a true home to me.
Another wonder filled slice of Elisaness :-)

there is always something quite measured, your value of tranquilty about much of your writing, these are themes which you express to such a variation of ways, I love this

There is no more beautiful backdrop than nature. To awake to the sounds and smells of the outdoors and of course to someone special makes us realize that it is the most exquisitely simple things that makes life beautiful.
