~ That Day, after Hiking...

Essence felt, and tears in my eyes

Of that sharp wind, playing with my

Newly cut hair-

Long distance in my heart of moments

To catch, and to cherish, like velveteen

Feathers of silence,

There where I walked, it was like an nuclear

Airborne field of lost souls, on a regular Tuesday

But alive enough, to breathe a new season

Of love, into my lungs,

I felt it was especially brighten

Although the blisters on my feet yearned for care

A vision I found, of me and him upon a high hill,

Long enough to stay, and to dream...

But my bathtub was there, and music in my ears,

A moment of rest, and be lost of some fears;

"That day after hiking" told me to love

And embrace every living molecule of our space...

Now I can breathe again, being reborn

Out of moment living,

Touching the core-

Long distance out of my heart with moments,

But near and felt, through every vein, as our

Shared future and picturesque brain...

I like the idea of loving and embracing every molecule of our space. That line is incredibly universal and loving. Its the kind of wisdom that spreads peace and good will to all things. As for the field of lost souls: I would say you pretty well took me there. I have felt similar fields on some of the hikes I have taken in old parts of the country, especially where you can really feel the way the earth keeps time. Quite a rejuvenating piece of writing indeed.

Nature in its glory envelops you as you walk through its splendor. Breathing in life as you walk, surveying the beauty around you so that you can revel in the experience as you rest in the bath. A very luscious hike and retrospective you have created here Elisa.

Ha. I feel my German roots as we go a wondering... blisters from a day is heavenly nature. A bath to sooth the aches of the travels. It is good to remember and it is just as good to forget and soak the trouble down the drain.
Interesting and unconventional write. Thank you for this fresh read!

When a brisque walk, or hiking up the hill transforms your mind into something greater, that is when you know there is a change coming. You have felt the wind whispering to you, and that is a rebirth, a renew in itself...

Your words are the fuel to my day... thank you for writing!... never stop Sis..~xoxo~
Remarkable, almost a psychometry walk. Discovering in the walk the dark and light of its history and then releasing all this whilst relaxing, (in your bath). Taking in and processing far more information than just through the five senses.
As I say remarkable.

i really like this poem...feeling that which is around us...really feeling it can bring us alive again...

a long walk into nature can heighten the senses that appreciate that which is right there in front of us...that which we seldom touch...but need to more often.

i felt i was walking with you on this one...the imagery is quite strong.

Thank you so much Jacob for your beautiful words, Elisa
I am beginning to feel an attempted critique on this site could get you stabbed. Nonetheless, I am wearing chain mail.

For me, my mind is torn when a line says "like velveteen feathers of silence." I feel that velveteen silence... is fine. Or even feathers of silence, but the latter is more interesting.

Again, when you say "into my lungs"

humhumhum, and not sure about "high hill" sonically.

Nonetheless, I enjoy the beginning. I like things that are velveteen.

It is stunning write, love the thought flowing in this piece in exploring new life, new love and new world. It is just powerful statement that two mind could create a better connection even separated by time and space. Brilliant right.
