You and Belle have good taste in music. As with your poetry they tend to illuminate and open a door in the mind. In regards to this poem you raise an interesting question. I think even the simplest of creatures are curious. And that the cat's curiosity overrides his instinct to kill here. Even if there were no glass. But maybe it is just what I want to believe :)

A beautiful poem dear friend, but all your poems are beautiful. And each night
I read your every letter as a solemn attestation of the truth or inviolability of
your words. I recieve your words as one might recieve an oath or a solemn
formal calling. You have a wonderful, poetic spirit...thanks again for sharing.

What the mind ponders as we face something we so want to explore, yet find an obstacle in our way. It seems at times these obstacles are in a favored place and allow us just enough vision to think. And what of this cat and this bird...friends? Well anything is possible. Yet, instinct may carve a different set of initials in that tree but does that mean we should accept what is written...perhaps and perhaps not
Very nicely done and extremely thought provoking. Once again a charming and delicious poem from you.

This is a good poem and tells an intricate story about this picture. I like how you related it to human interaction. I thought it was about dating after reading the first stanza, then came to know you had more in store for us. I think the last line could have been a little better though, but thats just my opinion, which you might do well to ignore.

Nicely done Sis!!...I devoured this piece...so much to think about! Truly touches on so many levels....
I wonder about these things, myself...does or will the curiosity kill in the end?
Is it the enemy/observer who has the advantage?...this is an intense view point of something mesmerizing...of a lethal attraction. Love this!~xo~

ahhhh Yes indeed!...intriguing thought my lovely sis! XXXXXX
Oh, I likey. Like an onion, with so many layers. Are we truly who we are, or are we just what we are expected to be. Or are the primal instincts our true selves and we only paint a picture of civility over it? Are we really any different from the cat or the bird? As you mentioned a date, isn't that our biggest facade? Being on our best behaviour, being polite and proper grown ups, when we would much rather eat ravenously by the campfire and playfully chase each other, laughing at this mating ritual we are all caught in? Or maybe it's just about a cat and a bird :-)

What a question to ponder, what goes through the minds of these wild things as they sit there and wonder? Do they stare at the other feeling safe and curious, their instincts blocked by these walls of glass? And do they grasp that the glass itself is what keeps them as observers and not enemies? Would that all people have this wall of glass to observe each other through so that we could not make war and instead, only contemplate what it is to be the other...
Beautiful poem dear sister and I love the pic!
