~ The Way You Live Through Me

Each page filled with gossamer cotton layers~

Hand-bound with precious care

The smell of history,  woven in magic,

The calligraphic beauty of every word

The narrators soul alive,

Dancing with time jumps

Almost trial pleasing illusions

That come alive~

Ages breathe through young lungs

Felt in the most sensible way,

Just how you live through me

I keep growing each day~

Pain, love and treasures,

I find on the journey

Of reading a book~

It will forever live through me

The way I gave it a look

Wow, Elisa my friend!! Amazing, fantastical work as always. I'm getting a much better sense of the story you're weaving together now. I haven't read all the "~" poems, as you call them, but when I have the time, I'd love to.

I honestly think you're an amazing fantasy writer, and would love to see a whole book of Elysion poems, or something like that. But then again, that would mean you'd have to make it public (I assume). And then you're thrown to the wolves, aren't you?? It's tough to share our inner worlds with the reading public, because not all of them will understand.

Thanks for reading my old jumps Baby.
In reading this wonderful work, it makes me think how we as writers leave a record of our thoughts to some extent. Even if we are never published as noted writers, in some cases at least we leave a record of our thoughts and emotional connections to our descendents in at least a family record manner. You remind us of that fact with this writing, and bring it to the fore front. Thank you for doing so, and a very nice work.

This poem is an open book into the heart of one who loves the gift of written words. Your mind, ad seen here, is the living loveliness each author dreams of to nest their words.
I want to read something now...

Ok .. don't get mad at me .. BUT I HAVEN'T READ A BOOK YET ! .. After studying for my Nursing degree , I never read anything else.. I was so DONE ! ... Now I don't have time, or the eyesite to read very long .. I know the poetry I've read has changed my life .. So I agree, we do become one with what we read, it is forever a part of us ..

The music again is perfect for your words ... This poem expresses the JOY of reading .. I Like it !!! Jazz

What a great spin to put on this, Eli. I have heard people say they "live through books". I love how you flipped that around as your own story. This definitely has some layers. I can see that. Open books, such as poets, speak so much of themselves in their words. Every story, if it is a well told story, has many different facets and directions. Thank you for always giving us journey through your thoughts, sister of the stars :)

A wonderfully worded journey through the art of writing. learning as we replace each book for another, never diminishing what is left, but always taking something from each tome. Learning from the writer, making the experience your own, yet keeping it perfectly intact for the next journeyman/woman who passes by its pages. The written word is probably the biggest human experience in history, all too often taken for granted, yet where would we be today without it?
Perfectly penned words of love and respect for such a simple, yet also mind blowing experience as reading.
