~ Winter Valley

Small frozen particles

Become a cold blanket

Merged into a winter desert

White clouds on the ground

Of perfection and balance

The broad waves of the valley

Dancing along the terrestrial

Structure... under which secrets

Are sleeping, a season long...

I think this is my favorite one of yours so far. You were able to achieve a complete picture with your words, you really took me there. I saw the snow, felt the cold. The stillness of the whole landscape. When snow covers everything, are the screts beneath being buried, or slowly exposed? When all colors dissapear under a white coat, must we finally confront what is in that "valley"... I mean, wasn't that the whole point of The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo? "Small frozen particles" all weaving a larger picture... You write beautifully, it's a great joy to browse through your work.

Awww.... your words do too... ;) X
Some look out on snowy waves
And see only white silence

But you, the poet and the woman
See Life and love and sorrow
Wrestling beneath winter's cover ..

Love this one .. Jazz

Snowflakes, the beauty of this small frozen particles is a giver of both blissful and solitary mood. A profound description of the season Dear Eli. I experienced one long winter season few years ago and now this poem brought me back to the breeze and smell of snow.

Somtimes I fantasize about living in an ice castle, like the forts I made as a kid. But as the Inuit who had 100 names for snow, well - the season's will inspire a trillion more poems no doubt.

What's winter like where you call home? Brief/mild? I thought so......nice poem.

This is so elegant, Eli. There is a fine mix of science and nature with the "frozen particles" and the "waves of the valley". All come together to paint a picture of serenity. Those winter deserts are something very special.
