~ I had a Dream

When I dozed off into a deep sleep

Curled eyelashes smiled

Cheeks blushed and

My mouth that peaceful

I saw a new world,

One of pink travels

Cotton visions

And surreal love

I had a dream

I walked through

Shadowed roads

Winked to silken skies

Smelled the Cherry Blossom

Danced in circles

Sung out loud

Faced my youth

Into deeper levels

I had a dream

Heard a violin, a Cello

And some piano notes

I touched the sky

And kissed the ground

Walked by the fields of hope

Resting and lying on my back

Then I smiled and smelled

My pillow

I must have had a dream

I think it's interesting how we are able to do anything in our dreams as opposed to real life...also see anything, touch and smell anything, go anywhere we'd like. Our minds always take us to new places or just the places we'd like to be. Our dreams are the perfect place for fantasy to take place :)

I love the imagery in this piece. It was like a "mental vacation" for me. I felt like I was actually in the magical world - walking on a beautiful road, and feeling music come to life around me. I could almost smell the cherry blossoms, and hear the singing. Sometimes dreams are more vivid than life, and the magical worlds we create can seem more beautiful than the world we live in sometimes. This is such a wonderful poem!

Alright, haha, sounds like it's going to be very funny!
Your dreams are beautiful. Such a sacred feel this one has. I like how you repeated that you were having a dream and then changed it some at the end. Love it. Truly.

Love the light feel of this and how easy it flows. I thought to myself how I wish my night dreams were more like this.

Elisa, you have captured the aura of the dream, the fantasy of sleep and the kaliediscope of colors vibrantly streaming with your poem. You have created a softness with your words and a grand adventure tucked neatly within. Very beautifully written.

♥♥♥ you said that fantastic!!! xx
I like how the dream is being brought by a peaceful state of mind. All is calm and good with the world, the perfect conditions for a launch toward dreamland, this new world of yours. Cotton visions as a soothing sight, yet one we know cannot sustain the weight of the unavoidable waking up… I like the repetitions of “I had a dream”, sounds like a distant echo of the conscious mind, trying to protect you of the shock that it will be to leave this word… Are we refusing the dreamland as being real? Where does our mind travel when we sleep? I would argue that this place is just as real… Even better, since everything there is created by us, doesn’t that make us God?

Heard a violin, a Cello
And some piano notes
I touched the sky
And kissed the ground

Love this stanza… And it pushes my point further. By touching the sky, you are the one creating the piano notes… the clouds are your keys.

The ending is brutal and honest. “My pillow”. Indeed, when we’re pulled away from that place, it is always abrupt, violent almost… At least you weren’t dreaming about a river… to wake up in a pool of your own drool !!! ;)

But there is hope, there’s always tomorrow night… to get back inside that world.

A great read, thanks for sharing !

should be "lying on my back"

but wow, i related to this...i have some pretty real dreams...the other night one about my second ex...and i was talking to her about why i could not ever get back with her because of how she left me the first time..and how i was involved now and very much in love...and she was trying to understand and then i woke up ...and i felt so damn guilty like i had cheated on my my girlfriend...

sometimes i wonder if the dreams take us where we want to go and can't...or take us where they want to take us because we don't want to got there in real life.

oh, it's my pleasure, this is a really great poem
I love the soft movement here dear EL. Danced, sung, faced, dreamd, heard,
touched, kissed, walked, smiled then smelled. So interesting this final
action of individual significance and justification. Written meristically as one
can visualize the modification in number or in geometrical relation of one
body parts...Your so good at this style.

We stand in witness here of some of the finest women poets every known.
Thanks for sharing....dana
