This is a write just out of silence,
Happiness and being out of writerscafe for a long time.
It can bring purity in simplicity, and
not the slave of your pen.
Thank you,
xx E.L.

Rehab is now the new term for re-entanglement. :)
I used to wonder if the Philosophers have really lived a philosophical life, and I used to often ask if poet's life is really as adventurous as his writings. And then when I had the chance to study Literary Criticism I have learned that writers writings dominate him/her life.
So I agree with this thought Dear Eli:
Every poet needs a rehab
We all need time to breath
What is it there to write/to record, to share if we will tie ourselves most of the time in front of this window and not to live life outside the window.
Another good thought Dear Eli. Thank you for sharing.

Good questions you ask yourself. And also the facts are true... it is a must, a survival, a need... once a writer, always a writer. P.s. I bought beautiful hand made notebooks, with celtic leathern gouged covers, to make my work a fact, I will be busy with it, next to normal life... but it's nice to have all hand written in a bundle together. Thank you so much for your thoughtful review :)
Very nicely expressed and it rings true...taking a hiatus from the cafe is a very healthy thing to do, even if it means the words don't come as easily, or plentifully, it is a necessary holiday every now and then. Usually, upon returning, the time away reflects in the writing. Such a nice piece. Thank you for sharing it with us, and welcome back. Yours is a voice we all love.

Yes Eli, this is true. Creative energy ebbs, and flows. Like the sea. Sometimes we just don't want to write anymore, but only experience. It is healthy. I find when inspiration has left me that that is the best time to return to older poems and make them better ... perfect them, edit them. They say it is better to take your time and write One great poem, than to breeze through half-hearted and write a thousand, mediocre ones. When my heart is not in it I walk away from creating, but never walk away from working on one that has already/been created... Thank you for sharing this

About the editing too, I share the same opinion, as for me poetry is never finished, it is always alive, like blood pumping through ourveins, I love it you always review with heart too, as you write also with it, thank you for this review my friend. :)
A fine poem, but only true for some writers. Charles Dickens wrote constantly, professional poets work constantly on new projects. So for some writers writing is rehab - they can`t exist without working, and writing is for them real life.
So you are right, but you shouldn`t generalise from your own ( valid ) example.

A poets heart is a complicated thing in its simplicity. We all need breaks sometimes because we know writing should never feel forced or come from a place of anything but love of the art. I have been to rehab so many times, as you know....but nothing helps regain my sense of wonder for words than solitude. I couldn't agree more with what you said here. A pen is just an extension of a poet. A poet is just an extension of inspiration. Thank you for your inspiring words, my fellow poet :)

Sometimes, the pen lets us know what is best. I can love and hate not writing, just as I can love and hate writing. One thing I know though, is it will always be a part of me, and you.

even if it scares us sometimes and makes us wonder whether we will ever write again...i used to worry about that...not as much now..it seems to always come back.
i really like this simple yet profound piece.
a couple spots.."a writer's block"
and "we all need time to breathe"---

Thank you for helping me out again with the grammar, I fixed the typo's/spots, warm greetings from the Netherlands.
Sounds like a good idea, I've put myself in rehab when I need an attitude adjustment of just to silence my mind for a while so it won't explode into frootloops. ;-)
