~ Like an Ephemera

When I fly, it is most intense…

And when my tiny wings reach the sky,

As I live breathe and will die

Feeling each breeze through my body

Just up high thinking one thing;

Now I still live, and breathe,

“It was the most intense day”

And rather I would be around longer

And stay…

The law of nature will maybe bring me back

But just now I’m dying, and I got to go…

Flashes of light bring me back to facts;

I was early mature,

And programmed to love,

To find food, and to build a nest,

To fly around on the ninth hour

To lose my founded food, and to re find it,

And to find my love…

But seen as a fault of natural genetics

I shall be just unacceptable and going anyway...

Just before I leave, know I found you,

My dearly mayfly, high in the sky

There we fulfilled the moment

The need of pleasure and pure essence,

On that cloud we produced our afterlife

With the sun in our back shining bright,

To be born out of the seas, like our revelation

Or in Greek; “apocalypse” of love,

Maybe just for a daytime…

We are the pinnacle of impermanence

And we had a most beautiful flight

But in twenty-four hours you can do more than

We think we would ever reach…

So it’s worthy to let go, this life,

There is no need for tears, as they dry

Of happiness, and only shine…

Hold my wing, youth shall be born soon,

We can go, we did achieved our purpose…

1. This piece reminds me of two things the instinct to love and recurrent dreams of flying I have xD

Your poetic voice is like the world-soul's memory of poetry, memory of life. I think when you have left your body, people will read your poems and it will cause quite a good scandal.

The whole poem has a kind of quiet magick to it, Eli. I really like the ending stanza a lot. The whole idea of "youth shall be born soon" is so lovely. I was told as a child that I had an old soul. I gave me a sense that I was aging backwards through life, with youth being my final destination. I wonder what will happen when I grow young...
I could connect with this on so many levels. I LOVE a "fault of natural genetics". That line is something very special. As if being born as who we are is a flaw. That is a very interesting thought.
Nice work on this, my friend.

Sometimes, in gorgeously stating certain truths, one suddenly ascends to Verity's unforeseen heights.
That, Elisa Laura, is what this oh-so-lovely poem dramatically demonstrates.
