~ My honor to Demeter, the goddess of land, and the fertile

"

~ Fertile Elegance

In honor of Demeter

As she imagined the barren fields

Those whose the almighty sun drought,

And gave a yellow glow over the cornfields

She cared, and loved as if nature

Was her twin sister, which she breathed

Vines and pomegranate fields she blowed life

In all colors with her breath and lovely insight

Hope within the sun, the land, and where the ray of light

Shined cheerful, and flavors enriched growth

Where fair love blossomed in supreme happiness

Where the seeds were distributed,

She gave her blink of hope, and lust

From everything that could perish as always

Confident in a next creation could flourish

And where almighty colors together could melt

Into a new whole, a part of life

A pearl of the fertile ground

And the need to survive

With enough water as silver rain

Could whirl on her bed of earth

Without Demeter, the earth was dry,

Bald and gutters filled with rich emptiness

She was the goddess of agriculture and fertility

As she gave her love to many other sorrows, which

And as she herself could efface herself, as unimportant.

Her glory was the pure unanimity

With what actually was most important

For everyone, and even when she always remained modest

Under her so beautiful olive tree, and prayed for

Her cornfield to love and embrace a new season.

Author's Note

In honor of the one of my most favorite persons of the Greek ancient mythology.

"And one of my loveliest modern Greek artists/musicians to compare with, it is dramatic as you must have watch the whole video... but this is Europe, and Europe is passion.... "

Thank you. xx

It is important to remember the characters of the past, from ancient Greek Godesses to heroes of the Nordic - every one of them holds a lot of meaning and were certain people's entire lives.
Here you pain a lovely picture of how important Demeter was, way back then - and so holds a lot of grounding now. (no pun intended) It's nice to see you've lost nothing of your skill in my long break from reading it :) Thanks!

I think this might be my favorite of yours. I love how much all cultures can be connected through the Earth. Each has their own word for her but there is only one mother of everything.

Great poem. Beautiful drawing. I know the abduction of persephone story off the top of my head so I know Demeter's story too.

Yesh, mother and daughter..... me too..... thank you for your wonderful words.
This has multiple layers (of meaning) to me. Anyone who is, or knows of barren would truly connect with this...The music adds to the passion of this piece...with it, I feel the intensity of the message...

A harvest of love and beauty in the fields of the Eleusinian Mysteries written with the pen of a self made Goddess of art and literature... An ode to mother nature and it beloved caretakers of its heritage and beauty... Whether in the cradle of civilizations or the green crescent region or the Greek and Roman empires harvesting was the backbone of life , and an indication of fertility so they celebrated the harvest with holidays and temples as other cultures did...Bravo dear poetess ...
