~ Her Labyrinth

Days lasted long as a child

Outside playing without any sense of time

But lasted indefinitely in the mind

Of the child with the labyrinth

She was particular in the lost days

Her world was infinite,

She saw, some people dancing

In her mind, and rich colors

Visions, of loved ones, and

The most adventurous stories

She fantasized often while playing

Where another asked where she was

She crawled in mind and on her face

You could see that she was happy.

Sunk in another time

Her thoughts were like a spinning top

They made circles in all directions

A vision for the future wrapped

Like multiple different ways

Where light could be found

She stood and looked rather,

Observed the happy crowd

Feeling clear what would happen

And painted it on canvas later

From her unpacked photographic memory

She was a special child

One that was observed by me,

I see her sometimes still and smile,

Then she smiles back, and helps me paint.

When I lost it for a while

Dear laura Elisa
You must be a wonderful person. I can feel the sweetness of your soul throughout your poems. I love this one particulary. It seems you know me as the inner child still very alive and asking all kinds of questions to life.
You use the words in a magic way. I can feel the images behind and see the colour of your emotions. Love it. Thank you.

"Days lasted long as a child" yes... And we spend the rest of our lives trying to recapture that... I really enjoyed this piece, a snapshot of a special place, that we can revisit, but never quite relive at the same time... The labyrinth can be a scary place, with tall walls where we can esaily get lost, but then again, every corner holds the promise of a new adventure, and that's half the fun! ;)

Beautifully worded dear friend... I like your interpretation you got out from this...
This was so lovely Elisa. The enchantment of being a child, I watch it in my son every day and his adventuring mind and excitement for life fill me. I wish i could remember better my own feelings and adventures as a younger child, lucky for you and those who do. This beautiful poem paints all of that for me, so I shall appreciate the wonder that I see today, like a child. Thank you for sharing.

You've a soft way of putting thought to paper, if that makes any sense. Love the theme here, and think often of the twelve year old in me. Life was so perfect then, and he, too, helps me put things in perspective.

Excellent!

Thanks, it's about me as a child working together with me, in grown up days... :)
wow I love this ... made me miss being a kid, but if you think about it we poets are childlike in the way that we never lost our imagination that it in turn grew with us
