~ Mornings in Marrakech

In the magic of the Moroccan air

Full of perfume mixed with love

Gasoline and local food we smelled

We kissed and ate, and

We danced until the sun came up

My heart felt every bit of the ambience

Involved, and landed in our soul

Like little serotonin bubbles in my blood

Danced within the power, of being

When I closed my eyes, I felt the embrace

Of the North African beauty

Sultry mornings,

In our neighborhood

O’ lovely Marrakech

Where nights are golden and

Days are rich as the sun gives light

Let me be reborn into this magic

For ones and for always in your arms

I shall close my eyes, for ever

To whisper with your love

I'm glad I could take you with me Sheema for a while, thanks for your lovely words xx
This is very good, and a great place to write a poem about, a great subject captured excellently, If I remember rightly, between the wars a whole lot of avant garde writers lived in Morocco, so you picked the right place !

There is... there is.... thank you Ed *smile*
Your imagery really makes the place real for the readers. Great job. I really enjoyed the opposition of gasoline and food and love being included in or compared to perfume.

Thank you very much K. :D
To experience a place in it's unique flavor and the mystery of what it does to our souls is always freeing. There is a sensual element to feeling the unique life vibe it gives off and no place is better then another just different in its own beauty. But my words are sterile while your poem is alive with this. Wonderful write, I almost made it there in my mind.
