~ Mornings in Marrakech

In the magic of the Moroccan air

Full of perfume mixed with love

Gasoline and local food we smelled

We kissed and ate, and

We danced until the sun came up

My heart felt every bit of the ambience

Involved, and landed in our soul

Like little serotonin bubbles in my blood

Danced within the power, of being

When I closed my eyes, I felt the embrace

Of the North African beauty

Sultry mornings,

In our neighborhood

O’ lovely Marrakech

Where nights are golden and

Days are rich as the sun gives light

Let me be reborn into this magic

For ones and for always in your arms

I shall close my eyes, for ever

To whisper with your love

A beautiful poem. Description made the old city come a live. I traveled Europe for three years from 1977-1980. Each city with their own personality and feel. Thank you for taking me on a beautiful field trip in your words. A outstanding poem.

Thank you so much Coyote :)
This sounds like something before our time (minus some parts). Something very archaic, in all the right sense.

Oh Elisa, this was so lovely... My heart felt every bit of the ambience... and you gave that to us as well, shared this experience so vividly, the smells, the feel of being there with the one you love. And Morocco sounds like such an amazing place!

I'm under the impression that you cannot write a bad poem. I love how you involved so many senses. I wish I could review this better but it's perfect. Nothing more, great writing.

This poem is a rich weave of cultures, philosophy, personal feelings and fascinating moments that takes readers to a compelling world across the ocean. I like how you did it, your linguistic style is captivating and conveys vivid images. Like I was there with you as you experienced these moments. This is a wonderful write E. L.

Thank you very much Maryanne, great to have you by! :)
Oh, i feel everything in this poem, as I love North Africa too! Seem really magical to relax in far away land of Marakesh, their foods have many different spices and perfumes are too sweet, you can`t just be "awake" :)
