-        -  1648  The shore of Oostende (North West Belgium)

The years passed by, as if time has stood still forever,

From the moment back in 1639 while

Julien heard the lyre playing for him

He was so in love with his Nymph, he changed,

As he felt regret for all he had done to her,

And knew his curse for it, he couldn’t be a part

Of the growing up of their child anymore

She was pregnant of his child, and he felt his love growing

Nienna, was changing on land, she didn’t became fully

Back to who she was, as her legs changed back into

Her beautiful fin she ones had beneath in the ocean

She had give her first born birth four years ago from now,

And lived with her together on the shore of Oostende

Peace had returned, as well she terribly missed Julien

As she told “Alanna” one day about him so gracefully

“Your father was a wise man, dear child, he had a real heart”

He has given his life for us, so we could survive

And you will meet him soon; “I feel he is near”.

Alanna smiled, as she somehow understood what

Her mother was telling her, en played further with

Some beautiful sea shells who were shimmering on the shore

Nienna felt peaceful and calm, while she saw her daughter

From a distance discovering all beauty of the sea

Days elapsed, and the little Alanna grew up more and more

She began to look like her father, the same twinkle in her eyes

And at one night, she took Nienna’s Lyre and started to play

Her fingers were magical, as she played like a pure child of both

The musical notes were like one of a Nymph,

But you could hear the human touch in it too, heavy

And down to earth, she gave her mother tears in her eyes

And while she didn’t knew it yet, she had called her father

Julien had heard the notes from far away in the North

Where he was now, almost in between Scotland and Iceland

And his heart melted, in this cold and frozen water

Every time, he did go, and came back… his heart was always

Broken for years, when he left, but he had no choice

He heard something of his own, playing for him

Nienna sang, to bring him earlier back with her magic

In her voice, together they played and sang

When he arrived he couldn’t be on wall for long

Even as Nienna, their child  was born with legs

As a sign of strength, and a well progeny

She would lead the world, and share the stories

When Nienna and Julien couldn’t do it anymore

She had legs for a reason, to survive as she was strong

Her parents, swum now and then to her, but she

Became very independent, from a young age

Years later, Nienna and Julien were getting old,

And couldn’t come back every time

Alanna knew this, and moved on, but she left a message

On the old salty rock for her parents to find

If they came back, even that she did not knew for sure

She moved on, and walked for days to the North

Where she reached the Netherlands, and became

A great sailor herself, and where she met the young “Lolïnder”

A dream man of her own…

so great imagination, gentle feelings and mythology pictures of the life in sea...I`m happy to read it any times, dear Eli. sounds like karma -story too and as a fairy tell with little sadness, the child Allanna seems to be very strong to live on her own, knowing she is different from her nymph mother...

Alanna. What a beautiful name. A magical world you've created here; the art, the music, and
your words. The idea that our children will survive us––––be better than us, is universal. I shall go
to the final chapter.
