~ A poetic story about Trishna

"

~ Surrexit

In the thirsty streams

Where all the hot

Summer sun was gone

And the reeds of the earth

Were admonished to straw

Her hand  grabbed the last

Mud from the water down

There was no clue of being

It was half past dusk

The air was clammy

Dry sand filled with craquelé cracks

She felt under her fingernails

It scraped and pecked

She was back on earth

But not more in prosperous states

Risen from the dead

In a whirlpool of destruction

Without any need

Or expectation no helping

Hand or any empathy

She was nothing but void,

Dead and soulless

In these empty summers

Full of "Trishna" she had to

Crawl until her bones turned to dust

Wow Eli, didn't know this side of your art...very refreshing in a haunting way! I love it!...we all have different sides to us that should pour into our work of art once in awhile. This is captivating! Great write, Sis.

You show a darker side here Elisa and show you are in command of many forms equally well. The protagonist here would empathise with Fushia from the Gormenghast stories by Mervyn Peake.

It was a bit huh, not what they expect from out of my fluffyness....thanks sis xx
As if shadowed fingers unexpectedly touch me in the darkness, the sweat falls from my brow, my breath becomes tethered so, Something supernatural in a hauntingly serene way wraps me of fear and casts my sight beyond the cloud covered moon. As I gasped I clawed for the earth, reaching whatever I might find and there before me stood beauty in the form of words...I read...I felt...I closed my eyes and dreamed. Very nice, Elisa.

Of course I don't know of "Trishna"

But I know this is a very good write ..

It has a morbid feel of desperation and unquenchable thirst ..

It is delicate .. and reaches far beyond what we as mortals can understand ..

Wow ... Good One Luv ... Jazz xo

This is some dark stuff; a nice change that surprised me, great write, gets under your skin. Reminds me of a mix of Poe and King. Love it!

Variety is the spice of your life and here you prove it with a genre i didn't know you wrote... there's a mythical touch to this, a dredging from the past that walks in the shadows of the mind. Fine stuff.

You have an absolute knack for imagery and word choice, my friend. I am so very impressed by this piece, it was perfectly penned. I love the way that the piece flowed from start to finish. Fantastic.
