Awake… and I am turning around,

I sniff dust in my nose, and feel the cold on my toes

Where am I? in the lost of days?

Or in the new beginning of time…

I sneeze Barsoom in the sand,

And as I look around, I follow my path

It could lead me to convince gravity as divine.

Jumps as big as I walked a lifetime

Time as fast as it was always so slow

Another oxygen smell to breathe and compel

To move me forward faster than quick

Even running  and turning in circles

Is easier as on Earth

I at least don't feel bored

The ways here are in the skyline

Ships here are not on water, but in the air

As energy flies, and only bad luck

Will crash the ship instead of sinking...

It's all relative for what you're used to.

Rivers on earth are here deserts of mystery

Faith of believe is nothing without history

A new beginning in another world

Will open perspectives and let go of routine

There is no way back from when I look up

In all the Earthly beauty I've seen

I must get used to all change,

And love again, without all the green...

I remember reading all the Edgar Rice Burroughs stories I could get my hands on as a boy. The sheer adventures and being the hero fired up the imagination and took me from the darkness of life to the magyk of hope and dreams. Your poem touched that magyk again for me Eli. Thank you!

I saw a desert picture like that on tv ..the rocks were being blown along the desert by the winds..no joke..nice write
